1. An annual Bangla Book Fair. Launched in 1991, the New York Bangla Book Fair is now part of a great cultural legacy built through years by generations of Bengalis living in North America. Over the years, the book fair has brought together some of the greatest writers and cultural leaders from Bangla and outside. Among them: Dr Anisuzzaman, Hasan Azizul Huq, Sunil Ganguly, Joy Goswami, Dr Golam Murshid, Humayun Ahmed, Imdadul Huq Milan, Shamsuzzaman Khan and Selina Hossain.
  1. An annual young people’s festival. Created as a continuum of the annual book fair, the children’s festival is an event designed specifically for members of new generation of Bangla speakers in North America. Held each year on 17 March, the birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the event gives the young people an opportunity to showcase their talents and learn their cultural traditiosn through interaction with members of older generations.
