Muktadhara Foundation is a non-profit organization registered with the State of New York. Its goals are to promote, publicize and encourage greater enrichment of Bangla language and literature and integrate it within the broader cultural experience of a multicultural America.

Living in America, the cultural melting pot of the world, the members of Bengali community are increasingly a potent voice, bringing new creative energy and diversity. The Bengalis, well-known for their rich culture steeped in thousand-year old traditions, are enriching this land – which we all call now our new home – by introducing unusual vigor and intellectual maturity. Among them are writers, musicians, playwrights and poets, all in their own way are building connections between the world they have left behind and a new world they are creating.

Muktadhara Foundation is a platform for all such Bengalis now settled in North America.Through numerous activities carried out throughout the year, it provides an opportunity for the non-resident Bengalis to revisit their homeland and renew acquaintances with their traditions and cultural practices. It is like a bridge between past and future, all done with the sole objective of creating greater harmony in the multicultural landscape of which they are now an integral part of.

By adding a brick upon a brick, Muktadhara is slowly but surely creating an edifice that all Bengalis everywhere can proudly claim their own inheritance.
